Class AAAA results

No. 1 Lakeville North 76, No. 4 Chaska 46

The top-seeded Panthers rolled to a 34-14 halftime lead and cruised past Chaska, 76-46 in the Class AAAA semifinals at Target Center.  Fourteen different players scored for North, which was led by Rachel Banham (17 points, pictured at right) and Cassie Rochel (12 points, 10 rebounds).  Brooke Brown scored 15 points for Chaska.  Read the game recap here.

No. 3 White Bear Lake 58, Wayzata 45

As they have done all season, Alexis Foley and Julia Dysthe helped No. 3 White Bear Lake advance to the state Class AAAA championship game with a 58-45 victory over upset-minded Wayzata.  Foley, a sophomore, had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Dysthe, a senior, was the top scorer with 20 points.  Wayzata had pulled three straight upsets to get into the state semifinals, but couldn't unearth another.  Read the game recap here.

Class AAA results

No. 4 Hill-Murray 61, No. 1 DeLaSalle 48

Tessa Cichy (pictured at right) poured in 34 points to lead Hill-Murray past DeLaSalle, 61-48 in the Class AAA semifinals at Target Center.  The loss was the first of the season for the Islanders, who had won their first 30 games.  DeLaSalle struggled with foul trouble -- and guarding Cichy's outside game and drives -- all afternoon long.  Read the game recap here.

No. 2 Benilde-St. Margaret's 69, Sartell-St. Stephen 47

Itisha Alexander and Olivia Antilla each scored 18 points to give Benilde-St. Margaret's a spot in the Class AAA championship game, as the Red Knights defeated Sartell-St. Stephen 69-47.  Benilde also got double-digit scoring efforts from Josie Dillon (12 points) and Khadijah Shumpert (10).  Read the game recap here.

Class A results

Goodhue 54, Buffalo Lake-Hector 46

The second day of action -- and the first in Class A -- got underway with Goodhue beating Buffalo Lake-Hector, 54-46 in the Class A quarterfinals at Williams Arena.  Grace Majerus hit 5-of-7 shots from the field and scored a game-high 14 points for Goodhue while teammate Laura Watson added 10, but made just 4-of-16.  Karlee Ilgen scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds for BL-H.  Read the game recap here.

Northern Freeze 62, Maranatha Christian 51

The Freeze rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat Maranatha Christian in the Class A quarterfinal game at Williams Arena, 62-51.  Liza Hoglo (20 points) and MacKinzie Magner (16 points, pictured at right) led the way for the Freeze, while Alexis Long (16) and Onye Osemenam (15) hit double figures for the Mustangs.  Read the game recap here.

Barnum 55, Nashwauk-Keewatin 23

Katrina and Jessica Newman combined for 35 points and Barnum collected 16 steals as the Bombers rolled past Nashwauk-Keewatin, 55-23 in the Class A quarterfinals at Williams Arena.  Elizabeth Sletten tallied 11 points for Nashwauk-Keewatin.  Read the game recap here.

Parkers Prairie 54, SW Minnesota Christian 50

Parkers Prairie's Sari Noga had a double-double by halftime and finished with 20 points and 16 rebounds, but the Panthers had to hang on to beat Southwest Minnesota Christian in the Class A quarterfinals, 54-50.  Kara Van Dyke (13 points, 11 rebounds) also recorded a double-double for SW Minnesota Christian in the loss.  Read the game recap here.
