Lexi Platz

Sr., MH/OH, G-F-W

A two-time all-conference selection and Tomahawk Conference MVP as a sophomore, Platz broke her own school record for kills in a season with 509.  The four-year starter is 15 career kills away from setting the school record of 1,151.  "(She) will be the team's key leader this season.  She serves as a huge role model for her teammates and also our youner players.  Lexi is a huge threat at the net and is very consistent in all areas of her play.  Lexi plays with confidence, which is contagious with her teammates." -- G-F-W coach Chris Wortz

Q: Give me a short scouting report on yourself as a player. What are your strengths?
A: I play with intensity and get others fired up and can carry a team on my back during pressure. I hold school records for kills in a season along with oher things. But that doesn't really matter to me. I just simply love the sport!

Q: Can you tell us one unusual thing about yourself that others may not know?
A: I play concertina. I can play piano upide down! I'm definitely a farm girl and love to ride horses.

Q: What's the best part of playing high school volleyball and why?
A: I get to play with my best friends that I have grown up with. Coming from a small town, it is fun when the whole community gets involved. We can relax and have fun while building closer relationship with the whole town.

Q: Tell me about the outlook for your team this year. Why will you have a successful season?
A: We will have a young team, but some valuable experience. We lost a setter with 2,000+ sets and Cheynee Briese, but that leaves us with uncountable opportunities all over the place. With hard work and passion, we will be just fine.

Q: What are the strengths of your team?
A:  We have fun. We teach each other/help each other. Many girls will be able to be many different positions. We want to work for the benefit of the team.

Tayler MacVey

Sr., S, Triton

MacVey was an All-Hiawatha Valley choice last fall for the second straight season, recording 110 kills, 689 set assists, 227 digs and 55 service aces.  In her career she has 1,756 set assists (6.6 set assists per game), 250 kills, 138 ace serves, 587 digs and 267 games played.  She will be team captain for the second year in a row and was named team MVP last fall.

Q: Give me a short scouting report on yourself as a player. What are your strengths?
A: I will pass the 2,000 set assist mark this year early in the season. My jump float serve is continually getting better and my jump setting will still improve this season. Strengths: defense, setting and serving.

Q: Can you tell us one unusual thing about yourself that others may not know?
A: I can't swallow pills like Tylenol or Advil.

Q: What's the best part of playing high school volleyball and why?
A: The closeness with your team. It's really fun to play with your close friends. Also the energy of high school fans.

Q: Tell me about the outlook for your team this year. Why will you have a successful season?
A: We should be strong again this year. We lost our DS but we'll fill her spot and we should have a strong front row.

Q: What are the strengths of your team?
A:  Passing, serving and defense.
