Jr., MH-OH, Nevis

Hanson passed the 1,000 career kills barrier last year as a sophomore, earning All-State honors in the process. She's a powerful and athletic middle/outside hitter who had 543 kills, 101 blocks, 264 digs and 64 service aces last year.  Can play anywhere on the court. "All-around athlete and smart player. Great leader." -- Nevis coach Stephanie Hanson

Q: Give me a short scouting report on yourself as a player. What are your strengths?
A: My strengths as a player would be my positive attitude and leadership on the court.  I have been around the sport of volleyball for many years being my mom is a coach.  I have an advantage with my knowledge of the sport and my experiences in the gym all these years.  I believe I am able to be versatile with whatever happens on the court.

Q: Can you tell us one unusual thing about yourself that others may not know?
A: An unusual thing about myself is that I am able to clap with one hand.  I also have an outgoing and fun personality although very competitive on the court.

Q: What's the best part of playing high school volleyball and why?
A: The best part of playing high school volleyball is being part of a team.  I love my teammates and we work hard to make it successful by taking the time to work out any issues we might have.  We work hard in the gym and stay disciplined yet we have a lot of fun together and make a lot of memories.

Q: Tell me about the outlook for your team this year. Why will you have a successful season?
A: I believe we are going to have a great season because we will work hard and we have a coach who can make us successful… who cares about us and wants the best for us.  I’m looking forward to next season a great deal.

Q: What are the strengths of your team?
A:  I think the strengths of our team are that we stay together and we stay away from drama.  The ability to have success on a team is to work together.  Ability cannot get you far without teamwork.  We as a team make each other look good on the court because we are selfless and happy for each other when we are each successful.
