After wrapping up a perfect season and Class AAAA state championship with her Lakeville North teammates, it's tough imagine that Rachel Banham could be any more honored or decorated than she already has been. But today the Breakdown recognizes the Panthers' junior guard as our Overall Player of the Year.
Banham leads a talented group of players honored in our annual "Minny" awards, designed to recognize the best of the best in Minnesota high school girls' basketball.

After finishing second last season, Barnum made the most of its return trip to state, claiming the Class A championship with a 43-31 victory over Goodhue last month at Target Center. The championship was the first for longtime coach Randy Myhre, who today is also recognized as the Breakdown's Coach of the Year award winner.
Myhre joins a distinguished group of coaches honored in each class, including:
Team of the Year: Barnum
Best uniforms: Eastview
Best venue: Breakdown Tip Off Classic at Hopkins
Best crowd: White Bear Lake state tournament. Loud, proud and orange and black all over.
Offensive performance of the year: Barnum's Katrina Newman at the state tournament, scoring 56 points in three games to lead the Bombers to the title.
