Preview

Farmington and Holy Family will tip off in the East gym at Minnetonka at 10:30 a.m. in the Breakdown's 11th annual Tip Off Classic.

Farmington lost its best player Zach Speikers to another injury and that has played a big part in the Tigers losing all five of their games so far.  Zach is expected back sometime next month I’m told…The Tiger losses to Mayo, John Marshall, and Northfield are by a combined eight points.  Edina crushed Farmington and Hastings beat them by ten…

Because Holy Family lost so many players the Fire were not expected to be as good as they are right now at 3-1.   They’ve beaten Mankato East, Richfield, and Blake.  Only East is expected to win a decent amount of games out of that group by the Fire handled all of them.  They did lose to Hill-Murray by 18…Northern Iowa signed center Justin Dahl is averaging 19.8 points, 17 rebounds, and 5.2 blocks per game.  Shooting 55 plus percent. He is supported by 18 a game from Jack Mugford and ten a game from Spencer Stewart-Hester…

Wyatt Ferm, a 6-foot-5 senior, is scoring 21.6 per game for Farmington…Holy Family plays Wayzata on the road tomorrow and then has four days off before the Tip-Off.  Farmington plays Burnsville Thursday who is coming off a big win over Chanhassen give the Blaze a 3-1 mark…

Key Matchup

Wyatt Ferm, Farmington vs. Justin Dahl, Holy Family Catholic

His team is struggling but the numbers Ferm is producing is catching the eye of many.  He’s a 6-foot-5 forward.  Ferm can really make a name for himself by putting up numbers on Dahl who is having a season that could catch the eyes of the Mr. Buckets group.

Prediction

Why Holy Family will win…Justin Dahl should dominate the middle which has opened the court up for guys like Mugford all season long.   Dahl can completely erase all chances inside for a team who scores a lot of its points up front.

Why Farmington will win…They are desperate for a win an have been close three times.  The Tigers come from a much bigger school so it’s possible that they will have more depth than the Fire.  If Ferm and Alex Hart gets Dahl in foul trouble with his multi-positional skill that will really help.
