Class AAAA championship
Apple Valley 75, Park Center 57: The Eagles avenged their only loss of the season, exacting revenge on Park Center in the Class AAAA state championship game Saturday night at Target Center. Apple Valley jumped out to a double-digit first-half edge and held that lead the rest of the way.

As he has done all season, point guard Tyus Jones led the way with 28 points, including a perfect 18-for-18 at the free throw line as the Pirates were forced to foul the last few minutes in a desperate attempt to catch up. Jones also had 11 rebounds and five assists. Muscular Dennis Austin was a beast in the paint, adding 15 points and 15 rebounds, while Dustin Fronk had 14 points.

Park Center (27-3) beat Apple Valley (29-1) by two points in the Breakdown's Tip Off Classic in December, but couldn't repeat the feat. Quinton Hooker paced the Pirates with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Devin Buckley (15 points) and Treyton Daniels (10) also hit double figures.

Class AAA championship
DeLaSalle 50, Austin 33: Junior Reid Travis dunked to cap a 16-2 run on either side of halftime, propelling the Islanders (30-1) to back-to-back Class AAA state championships with a win over previously unbeaten Austin.

Travis finished with game-highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Luke Scott was the only other Islander in double figures with 10 points, although he hit on just 2-of-12 from three-point range. But the Islanders defense was stifling, holding the Packers to just 36.8 percent from the field and 15.4 percent on threes. During the game-winning run, Austin scored just one basket in 10 minutes, 40 seconds.

Austin (30-1), which lost its first game of the season, was paced by Tom Aase's 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

Class AA championship
Minnehaha Academy 56, Litchfield 54: John Pryor hit a three-pointer with 7:20 remaining to give the Redhawks a lead they would not relinquish in the Class AA state championship game at Target Center. Litchfield had a chance to tie or win with 12 seconds to play and the ball. But Minnehaha's tight defense forced a difficult shot from Zach Whitchurch, which fell harmlessly to the floor, setting off a wild celebration for the Redhawks (23-6).

Marcellous Hazzard paced Minnehaha with 14 points, while Pryor (12) and Kaharri Carter (11) also hit double figures. The Redhawks outrebounded Litchfield by a 33-20 margin.

Litchfield (26-5) finished as the Class AA runner-up for the second straight season. The Dragons were paced by forward Riley Pater's 16 points. Zach Kinny added eight points, seven rebounds and six assists.
