Minneota, NRHEG, DeLaSalle and Hopkins earn girls' basketball state titles

Class AAAA Championship
Hopkins 68, Bloomington Kennedy:
With a 23-3 run on either side of halftime, Hopkins turned a deficit into a big lead in winning its third straight Class AAAA championship. Trailing 23-20 in the final minutes of the first half, Nia Coffey and crew turned up the defensive intensity on a stumped Eagles' team. Hopkins forced 31 turnovers in the game. The pogo-stick-like Coffey finished with 25 points and 16 rebounds, both game highs. Taylor Anderson added 11 points for the Royals (31-1). Jade Martin paced Kennedy (28-4) with 19 points, but was the only scorer in double-figures.

Class AAA Championship
DeLaSalle 65, Red Wing 50:
The three-peat is complete. Behind 25 points and 12 rebounds from Miss Basketball finalist Tyseanna Johnson, DeLaSalle won its third straight Class AAA state championship, beating Red Wing. Johnson added five steals against just two turnovers before fouling out with just over a minute remaining. But the lead was secure at that point. Senior Allina Starr added 20 points, hitting 14-of-22 free throws. Tesha Buck led Red Wing with a double-double (13 points, 16 rebounds), while Macy Kelly had 17 and McKenzie Muelken added 13.

Class AA championship
NRHEG 60, Braham 59:
The most anticipated game of the day certainly lived up to its billing. Carlie Wagner scored a record 50 points -- beating her own mark tied in the semifinals -- to lead the Panthers (32-1) to the state title over Braham (32-1). Her single-game points (50), tournament points (129) and single-game field goals attempted (43) all set new records and her single-game field goals made (21) tied another mark. Braham's Rebekah Dahlman overcame early foul trouble to lead the Bombers back from a 12-point halftime deficit. She finished with 32 points, 30 in the second half.

Class A championship
Minneota 61, Ada-Borup 51:
The Vikings overcame a two-point halftime deficit to pull away for their first state girls' basketball title. Sophomore forward Taylor Reiss led the way with 30 points, shooting 12-of-19 from the field, and 12 rebounds. Minneota (30-2) dominated in the paint, outrebounding Ada-Borup (28-4) by a wide 40-20 margin. Payton Boerboom added 13 points and nine rebounds. Megan Kolness paced the Cougars with 12 points while Heidi Eggen had 11.

Chase Coley Mpls Washburn Coley started off slowly, but as the game heated up, so did she. Finished with 16 points and 19 rebounds in Class AA semifinal loss to NRHEG.
Taylor Reiss Minneota Reiss racked up 22 points and eight rebounds as Minneota beat Bethlehem Academy, 47-44 in the Class A semifinals.
Becca Dahlman Braham Dahlman carried Braham in the Class AA final by scoring 26 points in a 49-39 victory over defending champ Providence Academy.
Leah Szabla Providence Academy Szabla had 20 points, but fouled out late in a 49-39 loss to Braham in the Class AA semifinals.Tough as nails.
