The Breakdown

Team Name: Mahtomedi Zephyrs
Head Coach: Keith Newman, 7th year
Current Record: 12-3 (Through Jan. 28)
Ranked: Unranked
Notes: The Zephyrs are capable of scoring in bunches but against better teams it’s their toughness and team defense that usually wears on opponents.  The Zephyrs have decent size they will usually force teams into a tougher shot selection.  They have had trouble giving up points to athletic teams.
Their strength is the front court where 6-foot-4 senior power forward Zach Lindquist puts up 19.0 points and 13. 1 rebounds a game while senior center Nuni Omot gives 13.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per night.  Few teams in the metro have the capability of matching up with their production in the paint.
In the backcourt Mahtomedi has a lot of role players and defenders but few productive scorers.  Guys like Lucas Buller, Sam Mustar, Jackson Hull, and Jordan Goodmanson do a nice job contributing in their roles.
