Benilde-St. Margaret's power shortstop

The Sarah Houlihan file

  • Name: Sarah Houlihan
  • School: Benilde-St. Margaret's
  • Class: Senior
  • Honors: Breakdown Super 100 seniors, Class AAA All-Breakdown, Miss Softball Watch List
  • Coach comment: "Sarah is the type of player you are really happy is on your team so you don't have to play against her. In her first season as our shortstop last year she was everything and more than we could have hoped for. She become the unquestioned leader of our infield and made some plays very few shortstops in the state could make. The ball just jumps off of her bat and she has great power to all fields. When the ball stays in the park she is very fast and runs the bases extremely well. In word she is the ultimate gamer. She's always ready to deliver when her team needs her." — Benilde-St. Margaret's coach Adrian Wagner

With the high school sports world on pause, THE BREAKDOWN wants to make sure these athletes are recognized for their accomplishments on the field, court, rink, diamond, etc.

The schedule of spotlight players will be as follows:

  • Monday: softball

  • Wednesday: girls' volleyball
  • Thursday: boys' and girls' basketball
  • Friday: boys' and girls' hockey

Each of our spotlight players will have action and posed photos, as well as the Q and A information they provided for this past year's Breakdown book in their respective sport.
