Q and A

Give me a short scouting report on yourself as a player. What are your strengths?

  • The top strengths that people have pointed out to me are my ability to be a powerful six rotation player, all around athleticism, contagious energy and Christian leadership both on and off the court.

Can you tell us one unusual thing about yourself that others may not know?

  • I am a triplet! My triplet brothers are Isaac and Truman. It was great growing up and playing on the same football, baseball and hockey teams with them for many years. I also have an older brother, Lukas, who is an excellent role model.

What's the best part of playing high school volleyball and why?

  • One of my favorite parts of high school volleyball is playing with a variety of age groups. From experience, I think it is both a great opportunity for upperclassmen to impact those younger than them, and for underclassmen to have many friends outside of their grade.

Tell me about the outlook for your team this year. What are the strengths of your team?

  • One big strength would definitely be young talent. We have many Freshmen and Sophomores who will be counted on to fill in for the key roles last year's Seniors played. Our team also has excellent team chemistry, which creates strong connections both on and off the court.

What other activities are you involved in at the high school level?

  • Student ambassador, Leadership programs, Ongoing volunteer commitments.

What type of training do you do in the offseason?

  • When I'm not in season for high school sports, I play volleyball for Mizuno Northern Lights. I also do workouts with my brothers and train with them by playing every kind of sport and many made-up backyard games.

Breakdown featuring our daily spotlight players

Every weekday until the official high school sports seasons begin (an unknown date with the current world situation), BREAKDOWN SPORTS will be featuring a spotlight player in each of the seven sports we cover!

With the high school sports world on pause, THE BREAKDOWN wants to make sure these athletes are recognized for their accomplishments on the field, court, rink, diamond, etc.

The schedule of spotlight players will be as follows:

  • Monday: softball
  • Tuesday: baseball
  • Wednesday: girls' volleyball
  • Thursday: boys' and girls' basketball
  • Friday: boys' and girls' hockey

Each of our spotlight players will have action and posed photos, as well as the Q and A information they provided for this past year's Breakdown book in their respective sport.
