Q and A

Give me a short scouting report on yourself as a player. What are your strengths?

  • I am a very dedicated, selfless, and hard working player. I always aim to lead by example as I will be a captain of my team for my third year this season. I always put the team's success in front of my own. I have a strong desire to compete and win. That is what fuels me through my training, nutrition, and preparation for any game as well as practices.

Can you tell us one unusual thing about yourself that others may not know?

  • One thing that people usually find surprising is that I wear hearing aids in both ears due to a hearing loss I was diagnosed with in elementary school. Due to the hearing loss I have learned to depend on lip reading as a supporting tool for me to use when I can't quite hear someone.

What's the best part of playing high school softball and why?

  • The best part of the high school season is the ability to play with the same girls that I see almost every day and have a strong relationship with. The ability to play and practice with girls from many different ages and experiences is something that I am so thankful for because it's a blessing to have helped mentor and have an impact on the younger girls.

Tell me about the outlook for your team this year. What are the strengths of your team?

  • I am very excited for this season as I think my team will be able to compete at a very high level. I think that the biggest strength for my team will be the relationships and chemistry that we have been able to build the past 2-3 years. We are a very close-knit group of girls and I think our ability to communicate and have fun as well as focus and compete as a team is going to be our biggest asset as a team.

What other activities are you involved in at the high school level?

  • I am a part of the DECA Business Club as well as National Honors Society. I have been a member of DECA for four years and National Honor Society for three years.

What type of training do you do in the offseason?

  • I train with ETS three days a week at Lakeville North. I also train with Midwest Speed during the winter months to keep my defensive and offensive skills sharp. I will hit live pitching off of my teammates once a week as well as during the team practices.

With the high school sports world on pause, THE BREAKDOWN wants to make sure these athletes are recognized for their accomplishments on the field, court, rink, diamond, etc.

The schedule of spotlight players will be as follows:

  • Monday: softball

  • Wednesday: girls' volleyball
  • Thursday: boys' and girls' basketball

Each of our spotlight players will have action and posed photos, as well as the Q and A information they provided for this past year's Breakdown book in their respective sport.
