The Paige Meyer file

  • Name: Paige Meyer
  • School: Albany
  • Class: Junior
  • Honors: Breakdown Top 75 juniors, Class AA All-Breakdown
  • Coach comment: "Paige has several strengths as a player. Perhaps her biggest strength is that she is always looking to improve and get better. She is humble. She is a great student and is also a vital part of our volleyball and softball programs at school. She is well rounded and the sky is truly the limit for her. She can score the ball from deep and also is fearless attacking the basket. She is wonderfully unselfish and continuously looks for ways to keep her teammates involved in the action. She is a very good on ball and off ball defender. She has special vision on both ends of the floor that are key to her special passing, scoring, and defensive abilities." — Albany coach Aaron Boyum

Breakdown featuring our daily spotlight players

Every weekday until the official high school sports seasons begin (an unknown date with the current world situation), BREAKDOWN SPORTS will be featuring a spotlight player in each of the seven sports we cover!

With the high school sports world on pause, THE BREAKDOWN wants to make sure these athletes are recognized for their accomplishments on the field, court, rink, diamond, etc.

The schedule of spotlight players will be as follows:

  • Monday: softball
  • Tuesday: baseball
  • Wednesday: girls' volleyball
  • Thursday: boys' and girls' basketball
  • Friday: boys' and girls' hockey

Each of our spotlight players will have action and posed photos, as well as the Q and A information they provided for this past year's Breakdown book in their respective sport.

BREAKDOWN SPORTS and its annual publications are Minnesota's No. 1 resource for players, coaches, fans and sports enthusiasts.  The BREAKDOWN is a full-service high school sports company, offering season preview publications, in-season premier events, off-season leagues, great photography and an extensive website with news and notes.  We’re in our 19th year of covering boys’ and girls’ basketball, 13th year in girls’ volleyball and boys’ hockey, 7th year in boys’ baseball, 4th year in softball, and 3rd in girls’ hockey.  The goal of the BREAKDOWN is simple: We want to offer players, coaches and fans a complete sports resource for high school sports.
