CLEAR LAKE, Minn. (Nov. 5, 2019) – BREAKDOWN SPORTS USA is already known for bringing Minnesota high school basketball fans the best in-season events in the state, and our newest event is sure to add to that legacy. The BREAKDOWN is bringing together 14 top boys’ basketball teams for the 2nd annual BIG 12 CLASSIC, a one-day showcase at Champlin Park High School on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019. The event consists of seven games at one of the Twin Cities’ finest high school basketball venues.
Our event features 13 teams currently ranked among the top-15 preseason in their respective classes, including the No. 1 teams in Class AAAA (Park Center) and Class AA (Waseca) as well five games between teams currently ranked in the top-15 in Class AAAA — all of which could be a preview of a possible state championship game. Dozens of college basketball prospects as well as preseason Mr. Basketball candidates such as Kerwin Walton of Hopkins, Dain Dainja of Park Center, Edina’s Jacob Hutson, Drake Dobbs of Eden Prairie, Prior Lake’s Dawson Garcia, East Ridge’s Ben Carlson, and Eastview’s Steven Crowl should be on the court.
The full schedule of games is below.
2019 BIG 12 CLASSIC
Nov. 30, 2019 at Champlin Park Hall High School
The BIG 12 CLASSIC is one of the newest of the BREAKDOWN’s special annual basketball events! In late November/early December every year, we're planning to bring the top teams from across the state to a Twin Cities area high school for a day of basketball. There will be varsity games, as well as JV, sophomore and freshman level games.
BREAKDOWN SPORTS and our annual publications are Minnesota's No. 1 resource for players, coaches, fans and sports enthusiasts. We are a full-service high school sports company, offering season preview publications, in-season premier events, off-season leagues, great photography and an extensive website with news and notes.
We’ve covered boys’ and girls’ basketball since 2002, girls’ volleyball and boys’ hockey since 2008, boys’ baseball since 2015, and girls’ softball and girls’ hockey since 2018. The goal of the BREAKDOWN is simple: We want to offer players, coaches and fans a complete sports resource and experience that they will never forget.
