Our Summer Showcases are the best of their kind in Minnesota, designed to give programs multiple options to compete over the summer months.
Our tournaments will once again offer the best of competition for varsity and junior varsity teams at various locations around the state. Pick and choose multiple tourneys with multiple teams and take advantage of our discounted showcase rates.
The Breakdown Fall Leagues are run by basketball people for basketball people. Former and current coaches are there to make sure the leagues run efficiently and have become the No. 1 high school fall league for varsity, junior varsity and freshman teams.
The leagues schedule is easy to follow and well communicated with teams placed in the appropriate divisions.
You decide to play at ONE SITE of your choosing. Choose between Bloomington Kennedy or St. Michael-Albertville. (New this year: We're now hosting a 40-team league in Sauk Rapids-Rice, as well!) Teams play back to back games on one day and then are done to enjoy the rest of their weekend.
Our leagues start later in the fall to allow coaches and players to get acclimated to the start of school. We avoid the majority of the fall sports season, and this year as in the past year, we are not conducting the league on football playoff Saturday.
We feel the Breakdown Fall League gives players an opportunity to play together, learn together and build quality chemistry together in a competitive situation. For that reason we do NOT keep standings nor crown champions. These leagues are designed to get each team ready for the season and be optimistic for the season.
The Tip Off Classic history began back in January of 2004. The Breakdown staff wanted to showcase teams from across the state and provide unique, competitive matchups. We also wanted to have top-rated teams with state tournaments aspirations.
The experiment worked out so well that now we host the No. 1 single day classic in Minnesota.
The boys and girls Tip Off Classic are ran on different Saturdays at the start of December.
The Granite City Classic is one of the most popular holiday tournaments in the St. Cloud area.
The Breakdown took over the sponsorship of the holiday classic a few years ago and looks to have teams from the St. Cloud area in a tournament to enjoy for all. The tournament is annually at the end of December each year.
The Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Border Battle is an annual event conceived by the BREAKDOWN and the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook in the winter of 2006 as a way to pit some of the top teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin against each other at a site rotating between the two states.
This past year saw Minnesota getting the better of the battle in Wisconsin.
For 2011-12 the Border Battle will be played at Sun Prairie H.S., Wisconsin.
For the second consecutive year, we SOLD OUT of all our boys' hockey, girls' volleyball and boys' and girls' basketball preview books. Get your copy for the 2012 girls' volleyball season today or risk missing out on the most complete guide to high school sports in the state!
