Iowa City West's Seybian Sims (Breakdown player of the game)
Iowa City West rallied from a four-point halftime deficit to edge DeLaSalle, 65-62 in an interstate battle at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic at Hopkins on Saturday, Dec. 2. Iowa commit Patrick McCaffrey and Seybian Sims combined for 43 points to lead West, while Minnesota commit Gabe Kalscheur poured in a game-high 31 points for the Islanders.
Kalscheur had 20 first-half points as DeLaSalle opened up a lead, but the Islanders couldn't shake the Trojans. Junior point guard Tyrell Terry scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half for DeLaSalle.

Orono's Jarvis Omersa (Breakdown player of the game)
Senior Jarvis Omersa scored 11 second-half points as Orono surged past upset-minded Robbinsdale Armstrong, 64-50 in the Breakdown's Tip Off Classic at Hopkins, Saturday, Dec. 2. The Spartans trailed by three at half-time before rolling out a 38-21 edge in the final half.
Omersa and Thomas Lecy paced Orono in scoring with 18 points each. Omersa was dominant inside, while all of Lecy's points were scored on six three-pointers. Robbinsdale Armstrong had balanced scoring, as five players scored between seven and 11 points, led by Jake Breitbach's 11.

Cretin-Derham Hall's Sy Chatman (Breakdown player of the game)
With Daniel Oturu in the lineup, Cretin-Derham Hall streaked out to a double-digit first-half lead on host Hopkins, winning 86-73 in the Breakdown Tip Off Classic Saturday, Dec. 2. After Oturu left with a leg injury midway through the first-half, the Raiders held onto that lead despite a big second-half push from the Royals.
Sy Chatman came up huge in Oturu's absence, leading the way with 33 points, 18 in the second half. Jaeden King also found his range with 22 points, while point guard Ryan Larson added 19 points and impressive ball-handling against Hopkins' pressure defense.
After scoring just 27 first-half points, Hopkins got going in the second with 46 points, but couldn't erase the early deficit. DJ Davis and Zeke Nnaji each scored 16 points, while Anthony Davis added 13.

Minnehaha Academy's JaVonni Bickham (Breakdown player of the game)
Minnehaha Academy blocked a last-second, three-point heave from East Ridge to escape with a 60-58 victory in the final game of the Breakdown Tip Off Classic at Hopkins Saturday, Dec. 2. Leading most of the game, the Redhawks turned it over twice in the final minute, while East Ridge's Courtney Brown starting hitting threes to draw the Raptors close.
JaVonni Bickham paced Minnehaha Academy with 19 points, while Terry Lockett added 10, and Jalen Suggs and Kaden Johnson each had eight points. Courtney Brown led all scorers with 29 points for the Raptors, including 22 in the second half.
Only three other players scored for the Raptors, with Zach Zebrowski hitting five treys for 15 points, and Kendall Brown and Ben Carlson each adding seven points.
