Twelve different players scored as Eden Prairie overwhelmed St. Cloud Apollo, 72-46, in the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic at Minnetonka High School Saturday afternoon. Dylan Stewart (14 points) led the dozen scorers for the Eagles, who surged to a 35-16 halftime lead and never looked back.
Coach David Flom called it one of his team's better games and believes that depth will be tough for opponents to stop. There is no specific Eagle for defenses to key on, as any player can step up on any given night.
In addition to Stewart, Grant Soderberg (12), Derek Dedeker (9) and Jacob Foss (8) all contributed to the balanced effort. They also keyed a defense that limited the big front court of Apollo.
Blake Maslonkowski (12 points) and Simon Krych (11) led Apollo in scoring, while Ibrahim Abukar (10) also hit double digits.

Stewart, a 6-foot-3 senior post, was in foul trouble during the game, but when he was in the contest, he was a difference maker. He finished with a game-high 14 points in just about as many minutes -- a point-per-minute pace. The Eagles had a balanced effort in a 72-46 victory over St. Cloud Apollo.
