Orioles stymie Caledonia in 73-33 win

Intensity.  Osseo brought it from the opening seconds of a 73-33 victory over Caledonia at the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic at Hopkins.  The Orioles were strong on the offense end, but it was their defense that was truly the catalyst for the 40-point victory.

"We try to bring the intensity every game, especially on the defensive end," said Bailey, who leads by example and by her vocal encouragement.  The University of Minnesota recruit also tied for the team scoring lead with Phillis Webb, each getting 15 points.

"That's our style," agreed coach Joey Waters, who admitted she was a bit nervous about playing a team she hadn't seen before.  "I don't care if they're a small school.  We're still going to give them the respect they deserve."

Not just respect, but that winning intensity.  Osseo streaked out to a 43-19 halftime and didn't let up after intermission.

"We tried to come out really strong," said Bailey.  "We really played as a team and that was exciting for us."

Janay Morton added 13 points and Cy'erra Mills had 11 for the Orioles.  Amber Sorenson was the lone Caledonia player in double figures with 12 points.  Sophomore forward Emma Lange had eight.
