The Breakdown introduces its newest in-season basketball event, featuring a dozen top ranked girls’ basketball programs on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016

HOPKINS, Minn. (Feb. 16, 2016) – BREAKDOWN SPORTS USA is already known for bringing Minnesota high school basketball fans the best in-season events in the state, and our newest event is sure to add to that legacy. The BREAKDOWN is bringing together 12 top girls’ basketball teams for the 1st annual MARCH TO MADNESS, a one-day showcase at Hopkins High School’s Lindbergh Center on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016. The event features six games on two courts at Lindbergh Center.

Our inaugural event features five teams currently ranked among the top-10 in their respective classes, including the No. 1 team in Class 4A (Hopkins) in a highlight battle against No. 4-3A Hutchinson. The host Royals have two of the top seniors in the state in Michigan State-bound Nia Hollie and forward Ashley Bates, but they could have their hands full with the Tigers’ high-scoring trio of Tori Wortz, Morgan Kurth, and Erin Corrigan.

Other ranked teams include No. 9-2A Roseau with the sister tag team of Kiley and Kacie Borowicz against Waseca, No. 10-2A Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton anchored by point guard Natalie Steichen versus Becker and senior center Alex Johnson, and the inside game of No. 7-4A Elk River with post Abi Scheid versus Moorhead and super sophomore point guard Sam Haiby. All 12 teams playing Saturday have winning records on the season and are sure to make for an exciting day of basketball.
