During recent summer workouts, East Ridge athletes were struggling with the mechanics of a drill to improve their explosiveness.
Told to bound high in the air, some kids skipped along. So the coach barked, "I need you guys to leave your footprints in the ground."
Those athletes who participated during the inaugural 2009-10 school year return looking to make a deeper impression on the varsity sports scene. Seniorless Raptors teams struggled last season but learned the importance of hard work and cohesiveness. They hope to transform those intangibles into more productive seasons.
