Junior leads Minnetonka past Braham in girls game

Minnetonka 72, Braham 51

MINNETONKA -- Trailing by three at halftime, Minnetonka opened the second half on a 25-1 run to defeat Braham, 72-51, in the only girls' game at the Breakdown's Tip Off Classic at Minnetonka High School Saturday, Dec. 12.

"This is the first game that we really had to deal with adversity," said Winge, whose Skippers are 5-0 on the season, including a victory in the Breakdown's Girls' Tip Off Classic last weekend. "We came out really strong."

Junior forward Katy Winge helped spark the rally with flurry of three-pointers on her way to 20 points total. After Braham closed to within 10 with 4:22 remaining, Winge hit back-to-back treys to keep the Bombers at bay.

"I was definitely feeling it," said Winge.

Joanna Hedstrom added 17 points for the Skippers, while Becca Dahlman led Braham with 21 points.
