The host school (Minnetonka) takes on high-energy Robbinsdale Cooper in the nightcap of the Breakdown Tip Off Classic. Fans will get a chance to see Wisconsin bound Riley Dearring go against junior star Rashad Vaughn, but don't think this is a one on one affair.
Both teams have a lot of tough, electric, fresh players stepping into roles of graduated players and both teams are expected to have good years. Minnetonka is entering its third year with Tom Dasovich as head coach, so the program should be full of players he's been able to mold for a couple years. At Cooper, Steve Burton takes over for Dave Johnson, which means the navy blue and orange crew will have the energy of new leadership but freshness of a new style of play.
Riley Dearring vs Rashad Vaughn: This is the second ranked senior in state against the second ranked junior. Riley is headed to Wisconsin, Rashad can choose just about whatever school in the nation he wants to go to next season. They played together the past two years with Net Gain Sports and now they go head to head for the first time on the wing. Expect both to score in many ways.
