Preview

Without even playing a game in her senior season, Braham’s Becca Dahlman already holds the state’s career scoring record and will look to put it more out of reach this season. The matchup with Park Center is an intriguing one, as it is easily the toughest game that Braham will play until the state tournament -- and maybe the entire season.

Park Center is led by junior wing Cayla McMorris, who averaged almost 20 points per game last year as a sophomore.

Key Matchup

Becca Dahlman vs Cayla McMorris
If there is anyone who has a shot at slowing Becca Dahlman down this season it is McMorris. She has a similar level of athleticism and the quickness that should be able to keep Dahlman in front of her the majority of the time. If one of these players fails to break the 20-point barrier, there is a good chance their team will come up short in this one.

Prediction

Why Braham will win:

  • As a team, the Bombers will “get up” for a big game on the big stage, just like at the state tournament.
  • They have Becca Dahlman on their team.

Why Park Center will win:

  • The Pirates are able to speed up the tempo of the game, which should allow their superior depth to play even more of a factor.
  • Defensively, they throw multiple different looks at Dahlman, which slows her down enough to give them the edge.

Our Prediction: Braham
