Stars of the day

1. Onye Osemenam, Maranatha Christian
Osemenam continued her dominant play inside the paint, scoring 12 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in a tight victory over Spring Grove in the Class A semifinals. Her strength and power inside have been too much for the other small schools to contend with thus far.

2. AnnMarie Healy, Providence Academy
Behind Healy's all-around effort (15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists), Providence Academy wasn't tested in an easy victory over Pequot Lakes in the Class AA semifinals. The Harvard-bound Lions' leader has her team on the verge of a state title.

3. Kali Peschel, Sauk Centre
It looks like Peschel's knee is healed and feeling fine. She destroyed NRHEG's perfect season with 18 points and 12 rebounds in Sauk Centre's upset victory in the Class AA semifinals. Bound for Iowa, Peschel is a force all over the court.

Honorable mention: Richell Mehus, Spring Grove
Mehus nearly had a double-double herself against Maranatha Christian in the Class A semifinals with 21 points and nine rebounds. Through two games at state, Mehus has racked up 58 points.
