Cretin-Derham Hall opens its year with the three-time defending state champion Hopkins Royals. The Raiders will play without Taylor Montero and maybe even Cortez Tillman although at this point the Breakdown is not sure where Tillman’s injury setback is.

If neither Tillman nor Montero is playing then Wofford commit CJ Neumann will have his work cut out for him. CJ will still have some help in the form of Teddy Chapman and maybe even his younger brother Sam Neumann (who is talented enough to play varsity but he’s a freshman).

The Raiders will have one break and that is Zach Stahl’s absence from the Hopkins line-up. However, CDH still has to deal with Harvard signed Siyani Chambers, Nick Jorgenson, Jamal Davis, Andre McDonald, Demetrius Martin, Jake Wright, and Stephon Sharp. It’s a tall order for sure.

Not to mention that the Royals are getting after it in practice as hard as ever after being beaten by Apple Valley in the St. Thomas Jamboree and having Braham play within single digits for 28 minutes last Saturday.

Will it be a Raider upset or are they stepping into a beehive after it’s been shaken up?
