Roseville's Emeche Wells

Roseville and Rocori will bring a lot of intrigue to the start of the Breakdown Tip Off Classic (they kick the event off at 10:30 a.m.). Rocori’s disciplined approach of ball movement and quality shot selection out of years of preparation in the flex offense led by standouts Nate Meyer and Jonah Eisenschenk is going up against Roseville and their cast of talent coming back from a 22-win season.

Roseville is such an interesting team because you just don’t quite know what to expect. Kobe Critchley is a top freshman talent, Mack Johnson is a quality shooter, Logan Brown is a steady, skilled player, Derek Magnuson is the young big, and Collin Johnson is the senior who has waited for his chance. All are talented but combined to average only about 20 points per game last year. You know they will produce but to what level? Emeche Wells is the sure bet as the athlete will get his numbers.

On the other hand, can they defend the flex? Nate Meyer likes to take advantage of the Flex ball movement that spreads the D by getting to the lane for mid-range jumpers and creative assists. Eisenschenk commonly receives those passes in the corner where he is usually a sure thing. Watch out for senior Sam Moriarty, Sean Terres, and Christian Pedroza who will fill the other main roles.
