Thunderhawks and Panthers don’t like each other. I know it’s true, I saw them battle on Animal Planet this weekend. The two vicious animals will go at it once again this weekend in Minnetonka at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic in the form of Montevideo and Spring Lake Park.

Montevideo is a legitimate Class AA state championship contender returning three guys (Brett Bergeson, Colton Vien and Jake Douglas) who averaged a dozen points a game last season. Vien and Douglas each grabbed six and a half rebounds a game as well. Bergeson is the skill guy in the backcourt, Douglas is the 15-foot-and-in worker with a mature face-up game, and Vien is the 6-foot-5 athlete who will be all over the floor.

The dynamic guard tandem of Bryce Williams and Sean Scott who combined for 38 points a contest as juniors will counter the Thunderhawk trio. Williams will fill it up from the outside and Scott will use his athletic ability to score from everywhere on the floor. Defensively expect Scott and Robert Ben to try and take away scores from Douglas and Vien while big time defender Jordan Thimmesch-Slepica will try and shut down Bergeson.
